"It is in vain to say human beings ought to be satisfied with tranquillity: they must have action; and they will make it if they cannot find it."
As I travel to London this semester, I would like to invite you to share in my adventures as I step (way) outside my comfort zone and into one of the largest, busiest, and most important cities in the world. Though I love Scripps College and California, I feel the need to explore both the world and myself. So I am studying one of the great British legacies: Shakespeare - his plays, his life, his world at the British American Drama Academy (BADA). I leave Thursday September 3 and will be home December 12... anxiety coupled with hunger for the unknown floods my body as the days until departure quickly dwindle!
I'll update this blog periodically to share exciting stories, experiences, and Britishisms - so stay tuned! I promise not to permanently adopt a melancholy, Victorian tone despite the melancholy, Victorian theme.
As for now, prayer and good thoughts are requested for my safe travel on Thursday and navigation to my new flat! Also, for my amazing parents as they are probably more nervous than I am! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to keeping you all posted on my life in London ~
Lindsey
